We have a number of part-time term-time only Admin/Healthcare Support Worker posts available for proactive, motivated individuals who wish to join the School Aged Immunisation Service. The posts are available either in Banbury, Witney, Abingdon or Oxford City and the hours available range from 22.5 per week to 26hrs per week term time only.
The role offers a flexible working pattern, to meet service need, which will include the ability to start work at 07:30 when required and some weekend and evening work. Flexibility to attend other areas of the county as needed is also required.
We are therefore looking for adaptable, flexible people who have excellent administration and clinical skills and who also have experience of working with children and young people.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to support the School Aged Immunisation team in organising, managing and delivering the school-based immunisation programme in all schools. You will be required to attend immunisation sessions in schools and community clinics to provide administrative support and within your role as Healthcare Support Worker you will be required to administer the Flu vaccinations to young people following the supply of the vaccine by an appropriately Registered Healthcare Professional. You will also be required to attend vaccination sessions to observe students who may feel unwell post vaccination. Full training will be given.
The role requires travel to schools and community venues, so you need to be a car driver with access to a car. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010. Mileage from base will be paid.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role will support the Service in achieving a high uptake of vaccinations within a safe environment and includes liaison with schools and families to arrange vaccination sessions and to provide information to parents to enable them to give informed consent for vaccinations.
The postholder will support with the storage, transportation and delivery of vaccines and equipment (e.g. collect and return vaccines to storage areas, and ensure correct disposal of used clinical equipment).
The post holder will ensure strict data and patient record confidentiality.
Good communication and organisational skills are essential.
Applicants should have experience of working in schools or with children and young people and due to the requirements for the postholder to administer the Flu vaccinations applicants must have experience of one or more of the following.
· Trained and worked in a covid/ vaccination centre as a vaccinator.
OR
· Attained Level 3 or above in NHS Careers framework with previous clinical experience
OR
· Recently worked in an immunisation role and attained Level 3 in NHS Careers framework and have previous experience prior to their immunisation role
