Job overview

Are you looking to develop your leadership skills within a community setting?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Nurse to join our dynamic management team as a Deputy Ward Manager on a 12 month maternity cover at Didcot Community Hospital.

If successful you will be expected to lead the registered and unregistered nursing staff in support of their professional development and in the promotion of best practice. You will be responsible as part of the management team to ensure that a responsive high quality patient focused service is delivered. You will work in partnership with key members of the Multidisciplinary Team in the hospital and locality to promote and facilitate effective patient care and discharge. As a deputy ward manager, you will influence the development and implementation of policies, protocols and guidelines relevant to the ward area. As part of the management team it is our aim to improve the quality of care received and the experience of patients and their carers, through the implementation of initiatives which reflect the National Service Framework for Older People.

Main duties of the job

You will support the Ward Manager in all aspects of ward management, providing clinical advice, expertise and strong leadership skills with excellent communication. You will be part of a fantastic multi-disciplinary team where there is a strong therapeutic focus on the ward to help aid the rehabilitation recovery of our older patients, who may also have a complexity of health needs.

We understand your career development is important and the Trust offers exceptional training and development opportunities, whilst working in a supportive friendly environment where new ideas are welcome and valued.

If you are a Nurse who has experience from an acute or community setting and are looking for a new, exciting challenge, then we would love to hear from you.
