We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our forwarding thinking nurse lead team at Didcot Community Hospital in Oxfordshire.

Our ward is great place to work with a lovely outdoor garden space for our patients and staff to enjoy.  We have a full time role available and work internal shift rotation.

Main duties of the job

We focus on rehabilitation and complex discharge management, caring for our patients who have a wide variety of conditions and have come to us from medical, trauma, renal and surgical wards.

Every day you will see a variety of specialisms that will allow you to utilise and grow your nursing skills.

There is a strong therapeutic presence within our friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team which you will be an integral part of, and you will actively contribute to providing the highest standards of patient care.

You will be provided with excellent career development and training as we believe in supporting our staff to help them succeed and thrive in their roles.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will have an opportunity to work with supportive teams and committed colleagues.

  • To supervise and support the ward staff in their day-to-day work and development, promoting the concept of interdisciplinary team working.
  • To provide information, training and support to promote effective patient care and discharge from the ward area.
  • Provide leadership to Healthcare Assistants and peers to ensure a high standard of patient-centred care.
  • Under the direction of the Ward Manager to contribute to the monitoring and auditing of the standards of care in the ward area.
  • To attend the multidisciplinary team meeting and ensure key issues are shared across the ward team.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient use of resources.
  • To work proactively as the ward and bed co-ordinator as rostered, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained.
  • To be visible and accessible to patients, relatives and colleagues in order to work effectively within the team

  • Current NMC RN Level One / due to qualify following completion of University degree
