Join our dynamic CYP and Families Service Group as a Senior Governance and Patient Safety Manager!

We're seeking a vibrant, adaptable, and driven individual to take the helm in leading safety, quality improvement, and assurance initiatives across our services.

This role is pivotal to ensuring all services are delivered to the highest standards of evidenced based practice that meets the needs of all the patients, service users, families, carers, and the wider health community. You'll promote a safety and quality focused culture in line with local and national policy. 

We're looking for someone with a sound understanding of quality, patient safety, risk management, performance and clinical effectiveness as well as knowledge of the expectations of clinical practice and the regulatory frameworks we adhere to.

 

Main duties of the job

Collaborating closely with the Associate Director of Patient Care (ADPC), you'll help develop, implement and monitor seamless clinical governance pathways, which fosters multidisciplinary working across the service group. 

Working closely and collaboratively with the teams that sit within the CYP and Families Service Group, you'll ensure effective communications systems are in place and to support the monitoring of excellent standards of care and compliance with national and local standards.

You'll play a vital role in shaping programmes to meet the outcomes outlined by the Care Quality Statements, NHS England guidelines, and other performance frameworks. Key to your responsibilities will be driving Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives aligned with the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).

A key focus is to develop Quality Improvement (QI) within all services in line with the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) launched in 2023 This will require working alongside the Trust Governance Support Team and Director of Patient Experience and Engagement providing assurance to them and to ensure that the service group are delivering the principles of devolved governance in the Trust.

Essential

Essential criteria
  • Clinical qualification and active relevant professional registration.
  • Specialist clinical governance and risk management knowledge acquired through training and experience to degree level equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with one of more of the main healthcare regulatory / assessing bodies e.g., Care Quality Commission, Monitor, & NHS Litigation Authority.
  • Experience of healthcare governance including knowledge of corporate governance, risk management and assurance frameworks.
  • Experience of management of healthcare standards, policies, procedures, and audit of the same.
  • Empathetic when dealing with emotional situations and giving sensitive information.
Desirable criteria
  • Healthcare Governance related qualification.
  • Experience of audit and evidence of improvement of services.
