Job overview

Do you have a desire to be part of something special that enables you to make a difference to the lives of young people in Sheffield? Do you feel it is time to develop your clinical knowledge and skills further, and gain support to progress onto the next step of your career? If so, we have an exciting opportunity especially for you, to join the Community CAMHS team at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust as a Community CAMHS Mental Health Nurse / Practitioner.

Through the transformation of our Core CAMHS delivery model, we are expanding the service to recruit additional posts, who will work as valued members of our team to offer specialist assessment, group work and goal-based interventions to children and young people with mental health difficulties. In addition to offering direct work, you will be working collaboratively with other services, to develop a shared understanding of the young person’s needs, to promote quality of life and emotional wellbeing throughout their CAMHS journey.

Our team work closely together, enjoying the ability to share multi-disciplinary expertise and resources to deliver a first-class, high-quality service. To do this, we are making improvements to our service to ensure there is the investment in our delivery model and staff by offering excellent supervision and training to deliver the service we want for children and young people attending mental health services.

Main duties of the job

Working in an outpatient setting at one of our Community CAMHS sites at Centenary House or Becton Centre. You will be supported by your team and the wider Trust in joining to meet; with a number of established forums in place to provide professional support, development, and clinical supervision, including daily multi-disciplinary Huddles.  In addition, there are opportunities to progress beyond Band 6 and into more specialist posts within the CAMHS structure.

Working autonomously within Sheffield Community CAMHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering assessment, group work, and high-quality goal-based intervention to young people and their families, enhancing access and collaboration throughout their patient journey.

Offering direct work over a range of evidence-based interventions, you will be working collaboratively with other services, to develop a shared understanding of the young person’s needs and promote quality of life and emotional wellbeing throughout their  journey. You will work in collaboration with colleagues in the network to provide holistic packages of care.

Our team work closely together, enjoying the ability to share multi-disciplinary expertise and resources to deliver a first-class, high-quality service. To do this, we are making improvements to our service to ensure there is the investment in our delivery model and staff by offering excellent supervision and training to deliver the service we want for children and young people.
