Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin have received additional investment to improve the support available. As a result, we are excited to advertise a number of new roles, to welcome clinicians who want to work in Children’s Mental Health Services. Where people are interested in applying but would need to relocate we can support financially. Where people are interested and passionate about working with children but have identified additional training needs, we may be able to train staff to develop the appropriate skills 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a dedicated, passionate, mental health practitioner to join our core mental health team. (applications from band 5 with an interest in career progression are welcome).

The core team provide assessment and interventions for children and young people with complex, severe, and persistent emotional wellbeing and mental health problems providing care as described in NICE guidance. As a specialist mental health team we support young people with  moderate, severe and enduring mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties.

The successful applicants will join our existing Multi-Disciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work alongside an extensive range of individuals with varying professional backgrounds. This includes psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, family and systemic practitioner. 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Take responsibility for the management of a caseload, which includes, specialist assessment (within service specification), and care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual treatment plans for CYP with mental health needs.
  • Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
  • Deliver a range of interventions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and Pathway guidance.
  • Maintain an effective reporting system by observing and reporting verbally and in writing on patient condition
  • To encourage and support service user and carer involvement and participation.
  • Attend and contribute to CAMHS Multi-disciplinary team
  • Utilise agreed outcome measures to review the effectiveness of interventions, as part of the care planning and evaluation process. Assist in ensuring that the aims and objectives of the service are fulfilled and to identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved.
  • The post holder will be required to work within their Code of Practice and professional guidelines.
  • Maintain an up-to-date level of professional competence within the specific environment.
  • To display effective networking skills, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with multi-professionals- within and external to Health departments.
