Our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Service at HMP Drakehall is looking for an experienced Mental Health Professionals to join its friendly and professional team. The team is innovative, forward thinking team and committed to a Recovery focused approach that meets people's needs. The variety of the role will keep things fresh and stimulating and you will be part of a supportive team with effective management providing supervision and guidance.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced based interventions, managing a caseload, practicing within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and Care Programme Approach. You will provide a care coordinator role and communicate effectively with other professionals, internal and external to the Inclusion team and prison, to ensure through care support where appropriate. You will work with individuals from initial assessment through to discharge, which can include transferring care to other providers such as hospitals or CMHTs whilst working with a variety of agencies in the Offender Health Pathway.
 
You will benefit from the experience and support of the team and that of its NHS employer. Inclusion (part of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) has prison substance misuse and mental health teams across the country and you will benefit from training and development opportunities as well as the support of an NHS employer experienced in providing prison healthcare.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional Qualification (Degree & Post graduate or equivalent) and/or Relevant experience in comparative setting
  • Evidence of continued development and up to date skills base.
Desirable criteria
  • Qualification in nursing, social work, probation, psychology or substance misuse.
  • Qualification in therapeutic skills.
  • Knowledge of national data collection systems e.g. NDTMS

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with drug and alcohol users and within a prison environment.
  • Evidence and understanding of evidenced based therapies and interventions for the treatment of drug and alcohol use.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with dual diagnosis/mental health
  • Experience of group facilitation
  • Supervisory experience
