 We are looking to recruit a Whole school and college co-ordinator to work in the Mental Health Support Team.

 The Trust supports you by offering a flexible shift system and compressed hours to support working families and our staff parking is free on all our main sites.

You can expect Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which is tailored to meet your professional development; individual CPD advice is available from our Practice Education Team.

You will receive supervision in line with the Trust values and the training course.

As a Whole School and College Coordinator, you will be responsible for embedding a whole-school approach to mental health, ensuring that staff, students, and families receive the right support. Working closely with educational institutions, local authorities, and healthcare professionals, you will drive mental health awareness and resilience-building initiatives. This role will play a pivotal part in transforming mental health support in schools

The Mental Health Support Teams are currently based in Stoke, the Staffordshire Moorlands and North Staffordshire and cover approximately 130 education provisions.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a developing service with high expectations for improving the outcomes for children and families in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.

The principles when applied consistently and comprehensively will help to contribute towards protecting and promoting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. The post holder will need to work within all education provisions covered by the mental health support team across both North Staffordshire, Moorlands and Stoke including any newly recruited provisions for the planned Wave 8 phase in January 2023, there are currently 63 provisions with a total pupil population of almost 30,000. The numbers for wave 8 include 21 provisions with a pupil population circa 8000. The post holder will be expected to liaise with schools and support them to implement changes that positively impact on the education provisions as a whole, this includes pupils, staff and parents/carers. They will be required to complete and support the education provisions in completing audits and then creating, implementing, maintaining and reviewing action plans and if needed adjust if plans are not effective.

The post holder will support schools to recognise how they are at the centre of proposals and are at the centre of plans to embed a culture of openness around mental health and forge stronger links between education and health in order to ensure children and young people access appropriate support and support that suits their needs based on the THRIVE model. By adopting a co-ordinated and evidence-informed approach education provisions when supported by the post holder will be able to encourage and nurture children and young people to have a readiness to learn and improve outcomes both for those children and young people as evidenced through Ofsted assessments and reports.

The post holder will need to consider platforms for ensuring engagement with all stakeholders including educational staff, parents/carers and the children/young people. This will include attendance at Parent Governor Meetings and implementing a way for children and young people to have their voices heard within educational provisions as well as promoting a platform for parents to talk about their thoughts and what changes they would like to see.
