Job overview

It’s an exciting time to join us here at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) as we continue to develop and invest in our services as well as our staff.

North locality inpatient services have opportunities for a Clinical Nurse Lead, band 6, within the Older Adults inpatient pathway at St Georges Park Hospital in Morpeth, Organic pathway (Woodhorn ward).

We are looking for a caring, empathetic, enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion to improve the lives of our patients. You should be a confident individual who is keen to contribute to the delivery of high quality nursing care and service development.

You should have a strong interest in working within a busy and challenging environment, have a high level of resilience and patience and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills,

Main duties of the job

They act as a Clinical Nurse Lead within a multi-disciplinary team, developing collaborative, needs based care plans, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within High dependency rehabilitation unit.

They act as an identified deputy in the absence of the Ward Manager.

They facilitate and coordinate clinical practice, ensuring high standards of evidence based care and treatment.

They are visible and accessible to patients, families and carers working together to ensure efficient, effective and caring services.

They lead on the implementation of all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.

They develop and where appropriate deliver training packages to enhance the knowledge and skills of the workforce and students.

They facilitate staff appraisals and Clinical Supervision and support personal development plans.

They provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
