Job overview

The nursing associate is a new generic nursing role in England that bridges the gap between healthcare support workers and registered nurses, to deliver hands-on, person-centred care as part of the team in a range of different settings.

Main duties of the job

It is essential that the Nurse Associate works within their own level of competency and expand her/his role in accordance with practice requirements and own scope of practice.

As registered professionals, nursing associates are individually accountable for their own professional conduct and practice. The nursing associates will work under the direction of a registered nurse or registered professional but may not require direct supervision. They will also be able to support, supervise and act as a role model to trainee nursing associates, healthcare support workers and those new to care roles.

This is a permanent and full-time post (37.5 hours per week). The post-holder should be willing to work flexible hours and to work closely with the Multidisciplinary Team as required to support delivery of the 24/7 care on an open acute Mental Health Ward.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.
