CAMHS Charge Nurse - Incentives Apply

NHS AfC: Band 6

Welcome from our Chief Executive

Our organisation is expanding and we're looking for people with the right values, skills and/or potential to join us. We need people with energy, expertise, enthusiasm to help us provide the very best possible specialist NHS mental health and learning disability care. This involves helping us achieve our strategy to improve the quality of life for the communities we serve through People, Prevention and Partnerships.

So what can we offer you in return?

We're an organisation which puts people first. We'll do everything possible to help you feel respected, valued and included. We'll help you learn, acquire new skills and gain further experience to support your career development. And we'll provide the opportunity for you to bring your fresh ideas to work about how we can do things differently and continue improving.

You will also be joining a health and care system committed to working together to do the best we can for the communities we serve. Above all, at Sussex Partnership you'll have the chance to make a difference to the lives of the patients, carers and families across our communities.

As a Trust we are committed in making a difference. Your development is important to us, so don't forget to ask us during interview what opportunities we can offer. We can offer fully funded lifelong learning opportunities such as an apprenticeship from GCSE to Masters level.

If you like the sound of that, then come and join our team.

Job overview

Ever wanted to gain experience in CAMHS services? We are looking for Band 6 Nurses to join our compassionate and friendly in-patient team within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Chalkhill is looking for a charge nurse to join its motivated and dynamic team. We want you to be a part of our upcoming projects to help continue to strive for more success.

We have an experienced team and work collaboratively with eating disorder services, paediatric wards and our school which we have on-sight, so our young people have access to educational services.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID

Main duties of the job

If you have not previously worked in CAMHS, don't worry! Many of your skills from other acute settings will be transferable and we will provide training to meet any learning needs identified in your appraisal.

You will be closely supported by our Ward Manager, Matron, Charge Nurses, to lead the nursing team in maintaining high standards of care, providing evidence based practice, and implementing practice development initiatives.

We understand that looking after our staff's health and well-being leads to safer services and better experiences for our young people, and so actively promote supervision, reflection, training opportunities and team away days.

In your application we would love to know what attributes you would bring to our team and we love to hear about what drives the nurses of today. We are committed to investing in our staff in order to provide you with further training and development to enhance those leadership skills.

Working for our organisation

Chalkhill Hospital is a modern, 16 bedded unit located in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. We offer a unique and rewarding experience supporting young people to recover at a critical time in their development so they have the best chance to succeed in life.

We receive consistent feedback from both substantive and temporary staff that we are a really compassionate, friendly and fun team to work with so, come and join us!

We'd love you to join an organisation that is rated 'good' overall and 'outstanding' for caring by the Care Quality Commission. Our staff agree, with 82% of people in our recent staff survey telling us that they recognise that care for patients is our top priority.

Other key staff survey results include:

70% highlighting flexible working opportunities as a key point for satisfaction at work

79% reporting feeling able to make suggestions to improve the work within their team
