Camden Primary Care Trust exists to improve the health of people in Camden; tackling inequalities in health and ensuring that all local people have access to high quality healthcare are our priorities.
The PCT serves a population of 220,000, employs over 1000 members of staff and in 2004/5, we have a budget of £286.3 million. It was formed on 1st April 2002, following a public consultation undertaken in the summer of 2001.
Local primary care services are at the heart of the PCT and are provided by a range of clinical professionals, including GPs, practice and community nurses, therapists and social services staff. Pharmacists, optometrists and dentists are also an important part of the PCT's extended primary care services.
Other services provided by the PCT include, services for the elderly and children, therapy services and sexual health services. A comprehensive and detailed list of services is available in the Our Services section of this site. The PCT also works closely with local hospitals to plan and provide a comprehensive range of hospital services for people in Camden.
