Job overview

Are you a nurse or paramedic interested in working in an Urgent Treatment Centre?

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse practitioner or paramedic practitioner to work within the Urgent Treatment Centre.

The post is for a full time care practitioner in Whitworth urgent treatment centre

The post is advertised as a band 6 but dependent on experience and skills, but there may be a possibility to appoint to a band 5 who will then develop to a band 6 once local competencies and MSc module in minor injuries is successfully completed.

Main duties of the job

The unit is nurse and paramedic practitioner led and is operational seven days a week, from 08.00 to 20:00hrs.

As a registered, accountable clinical employee you will be expected to possess a relevant high level of clinical knowledge and skills. This will enable you to assess, examine and treat patients safely and appropriately from the whole age spectrum that attend the  UTCs with a variety of minor injury and minor illness presentations.

You will need to effectively engage with patients, peer groups, and service users in all elements of your role, leading by example and promoting a supportive and caring culture. This will require an inclusive, transparent, open approach to your role, whereby you are happy to be accountable to others and to go the extra mile when required.

You must be flexible, enthusiastic, motivated and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.

Working for our organisation
