Are you a caring and enthusiastic individual looking to work in an outstanding rated Trust. Tarrant ward, based at Blandford Community Hospital are looking for a compassionate individual to work as an Activity Coordinator, responsible for offering a range of therapeutic activities to patients in our inpatient hospital setting.
The benefits of being engaged in therapeutic activity are widely recognised in the ward environment. The role of the Activity Coordinator is key in ensuring this is done thoughtfully, creatively and safely within the ward environment. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team. We have two palliative care suites where we pride ourselves at providing the best care to patients and their families in their last weeks or days of their life. Our Elderly Rehabilitation and End of Life Care unit achieved a nationally recognised accreditation in the Gold Standard Framework award for end-of-life care. We offer a structured induction programme, and you will be given opportunities to support to develop your skills.
The Activity Coordinator role is a part time position of 15 hours per week. We could be flexible on how the hours are met on ideally Wednesday, Thursday and / or Friday. This can be discussed further at interview stage. We have a robust induction programme and a supportive, friendly team.

- Your role will centre around planning, organising and providing activities for service users alongside the nursing team.
- To enhance the care delivered by the multi-disciplinary team.
- Organise own daily workload, e.g. identification of suitable patients to attend the day room and take part in activities.
- Always maintain confidentiality.
- Undertake relevant administrative duties delegated to you by a more senior member of the team.
