An exciting opportunity has arisen at Trafford Early intervention in psychosis service.
We are looking to recruit a registered Nurse Associate to work to undertaking Physical Health Care assessments, monitoring and support to engage in appropriate interventions and lifestyle choices.
EIT is a fast paced, dynamic, supportive , well performing team within the Trafford directorate of GMMH covering a wide geographical area serving the local community in the borough of Trafford.
The successful applicant will have some experience of working with service users with a range of needs, mental health and substance use difficulties
The post holder will be able to hold clinics and work as part of a busy multi-disciplinary team supporting service users to address their physical and mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
- Health Promotion & physical health /lifestyle interventions
- Physical Health Improvement Tool in line with shared care protocol
- support to access timely referral to substance misuse services
- Clozapine, & Depot clinics
- Undertake Venepuncture as directed by Advanced Nurse Practitioner as required.
- Undertake ECG as directed by Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Medic as required.
- Supporting annual flu vaccination clinics
- Administration of depot medication
- Clozapine service users

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Health and Social Care Qualification
- Literacy and Numeracy
- Assessing Physical Health Needs
- Awareness of interaction of physical and mental health
- Knowledge and experience of mental health and social care
Desirable criteria
- Venepuncture
- BLS
- Blood result awareness in relation to physical health
- Experience and knowledge of MHA/MCA
Experience
Essential criteria
- Assessing physical health needs Awareness of mental health and physical health and how it interacts. Have the ability to work on their own initiative under appropriate supervision and engage in reflective practice Have experience of delivering person centred care under the supervision of a RN Have experience of working in collaboration with members of a multidisciplinary team in delivering care
Desirable criteria
- Have previously completed a placement or have been employed in a community mental health setting.
