In this role you would be working in our Abingdon locality, which is a full multi-disciplinary team that comes under the umbrella of the South Oxfordshire Adult Mental Health Team.

You would be involved in assessing patients newly referred into the team, and providing short or long term follow-up with people with serve and enduring mental illnesses in accordance with their needs and goals.

You would be joining a friendly and skilled team of nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, support workers, occupational therapists and social workers.

It will be paramount that you are motivated to work alongside patients and their support networks collaboratively in their recovery.

The AMHT works alongside the newly established Keystone Hub, as well as other partner organisations in the community, with the aim of ensuring that people receive care and support from the services most suitable to meet their needs.

 Whilst we are seeing experienced Nurses we would also welcome applicants from newly qualified clinicians who are seeking a developmental opportunity at band 5 level where you will be provided with increased supervision, training and expectations around complexity and autonomy will be less (please state this within your application if you are interested).

You will be expected to contribute to the duty co-ordination rota which involves liaison with referrers, triaging referrals and supporting with team work and emergency assessments. 

As part of the role you will assess people referred into the service, plan, provide evidence-based interventions according to their needs, you will also manage a caseload.

As a team we are aiming to provide an excellent service for our local community, and are seeking candidates who share our passion.

There are opportunities for team working and facilitating groups such as MBT/CBT based interventions. The MDT consists of medics, psychological therapists, social workers, OTs, RMNs and support workers, as well as embedded workers from the third sector to support with employment, housing and social needs.  

You will be supported by an experienced leadership team from across the professions who facilitate forums for Nurses and hold your development as central.  We offer regular supervision and you will be encouraged and supported to undertake any training relevant to your professional development. 

We would prefer you to work 30 to 37.5 hours per week, which will include  evening and weekend working- we welcome flexible working so please call us to discuss how we may be able to accommodate other working patterns. You will not be required to work night shifts.
