Wycombe Abbey was originally founded in 1896 to provide education for forty girls as boarders, in the magnificent mansion which had been rebuilt by James Wyatt for the first Lord Carrington in 1798. Set in magnificent grounds and woodland spanning over 160 acres, Wycombe Abbey is now a world-renowned independent girls’ boarding school in the heart of High Wycombe, which attracts high-achieving pupils aged 11-18 from across the UK and  from overseas.

Our self-contained estate comprises a range of boarding houses, classrooms, a chapel and an on-site Health Centre for pupils and staff. The School facilities also include a state-of-the-art sports centre, a performing arts centre, staff houses, sports pitches and courts, and a beautiful lake.

The school is a charitable trust with a Council of Governors.
