Staff Nurse (Band 5), Older Adult Mental Health

Band 5

Guernsey is in the English Channel and offers its residents a great quality of life. It’s the perfect escape for those seeking a laid-back yet adventurous lifestyle and a job with plenty of rewards.

So forget long commutes to work and head for our sandy shores where you’ll find everything you want within easy reach of where you live.

Do you…..

…have experience of working with older people who display complex behaviours that challenge?

… want to work in a team and organisation where we give you time to care?

Are you passionate about working with older people who experience dementia and are a registered nurse?

The services for older people are looking to recruit registered nurses who have a passion for working with older people.  You will be working in one of our units dedicated to dementia care where high standards of person centred care are essential.  With our recently launched Island wide Dementia Framework we are striving to make our island Dementia Friendly so that our older population feel valued and are treated with the dignity and respect that they so rightly deserve.

We have a comprehensive service for Older People experiencing dementia. There are four in-patient centres (including an assessment ward through to the later stages of an individual’s experience of dementia) as well as Day Services. Within the Community the team consists of one team leader,  one clinical nurse specialist, four community psychiatric nurses,  one occupational therapists and two community support workers.

This team also carries out a memory clinic service undertaking specialist testing leading to possible diagnosis.
