Healthcare Assistant - Acute Admissions Unit

Salary:                 £28,000 - £32,000 (Depending upon experience)

Hours:                  37.5 hours per week

Location:             33 Grosvenor Place, London 

Contract:             Full time, permanent position 

 

What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join our Acute Admissions Unit team with a competitive salary range on offer, up to £32,000 depending upon experience.

This is a full time, permanent position would require the post holder to work up to 37.5 hours per week.

This is a Monday-Sunday, Days/Nights/Weekends role with the following shift patterns:

  • Monday to Sunday Long Days– 0800-2030 

  • Monday to Sunday Nights – 2000-0830

  • Bank Holidays – 0800-2030 & 2000-0830

The role of the Healthcare Assistant in Acute Admissions Unit is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe, effective, efficient care for patients and relatives, while delivering key performance targets including assurance that the professional nursing practice and delivery of care is aligned to the Cleveland Clinic London (CCL) mission and values.

Our 12-bed AAU features the latest technology. The unit is just steps from our intensive care unit (ICU) and close to all of our advanced medical and surgical wards. Every level of care is under one roof, resulting in prompt, streamlined care. Patients receive fast, thorough assessments in our AAU from highly skilled consultants. Advanced diagnostics and testing, combined with a full staff of on-site health professionals, help patients get the treatments and answers they need promptly. Our AAU Department also houses a Bariatric Bed Room, Isolation Bed Room and Dialysis Bed Room, respectively.

 

What will your duties include?

  • Develop competence in carrying out tasks such as taking and recording basic observations, assist patient with hygiene, nutritional requirements, perform tests such as urinalysis, Blood glucose etc, and working in a manner that promotes privacy and dignity.

  • Notify nursing caregivers of changes/concerns in patients’ condition.

  • Recognise own limitations and request assistance as necessary.

  • Use computer system (EPIC and Windows) to access and update patient records

  • Participates effectively at the Quality improvements initiatives for the ward ensures that the Ward KPI’s are achieved and are aligned with CCL quality standards. Contribute to achieving quality and improvement KPIs.

 

What we need from you?

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher; Care Certificate.

  • Demonstrates broad experience in the acute care field.

  • Track record of achievement of objectives in present and past jobs in the clinical field.

  • Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action and adapt to changes.
