Health and Care education provision has long been an integral part of Coventry University Group and a key mechanism through which we are fulfilling our mission of Creating Better Futures. The University is proud to be one of the largest providers of health and care courses in the UK, with over 5,800 students and in excess of 300 staff dedicated to advancing the health of local, national and international communities.

The School of Health and Care is proud to deliver a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for professionals in health and social care settings, including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology, and public health. Our courses are offered across our campus sites in Scarborough, Coventry, London and Wilshire.  We also offer an extensive portfolio of CPD courses, such as Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent Prescribing, Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Global Healthcare Management

The Role

We are looking for a dynamic individual to be actively involved in the design and delivery of teaching across the School, ensuring the provision of high quality education of health and care professionals. Your contribution is likely to include the development of innovative teaching materials and assessment at all levels ensuring the enhancement of the student experience and employability.

The successful applicant will also oversee our service user and carer provision for the School of Health and Care. This pivotal role ensures the highest quality student experience and will pioneer innovative approaches to enhance the student journey and overall experience in closed collaboration with our diverse group of service users and carers.

Key Responsibilities

·       Teaching and assessment of students on pre-registration health and care courses delivered within the school

·       Working with colleagues to enrich the student’s learning and teaching experience

·       Oversee the engagement of service users and carers in all aspects of teaching and learning.

·       Develop strategies for the engagement of service users and carers in curriculum design, recruitment, and quality processes.

·       Co-design and co-deliver workshops, training and resources for the development of service users and carers and staff.

·       Oversee and implement the service user and carer strategy for the School of Health Care at all campus sites (Scarborough, Coventry, London and Wilshire).

Our Successful Candidate

Our ideal candidate will be a health and social care registered professional with:

·       Experience of teaching in a higher education setting

·        Knowledge of the higher education landscape and the challenges and opportunities of service user and carer engagement.

·       Proven experience in developing collaborative relationships with service users and carers.

·       An understanding of health and social care professional programmes and standards including adherence to professional and regulatory body requirements for service user and care engagement
