Detailed job description and main responsibilities
-Ensure a high standard of care for level 1 and level 2 post operative patients and safe transfer to critical care unit/other area.
- Health and physical abilities sufficient for the post (If necessary, with reasonable adjustments with respect to the Equality Act/Disability Discrimination Act).
- Work with Medical staff and multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient safety and treatment are carried out asper Trust policies.
- Able to communicate effectively, in person and written, in all situations with wide range of people, Full use of IT systems.
- Able to work unsupervised using own initiative and ability to prioritise workload in a challenging situation.
- Maintain accurate records of observation, treatment and patient care.
- Get involved with the Education team, support junior staff and get engaged with link roles in the unit.
- Able to demonstrate behaviours that meet the Trust Values - Patient First, Working Together and Always Improving.
-Qualified Nurse/ODP Adult or Dual registered Adult/Child.
- Recovery/critical care unit experience is desirable but not essential.
- Flexible to work patterns, which includes short shifts, early, lates, twilights, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing environment.
- Positive attitude and team player.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Understanding of personal accountability
- Knowledge of own role within the team
- Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
- Awareness of evidence-based practice
- Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
- Evidence of on-going personal development
- Able to use initiative
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of recent study
- Previous experience/qualification in relevant specialty
- Teaching experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
