Job overview

The Intensive Home Treatment Team is a citywide service for older people experiencing an acute episode of a wide range of mental health difficulties including younger people with a diagnosis of Dementia who are in crisis. It is based at The Mount. IHTT is made up of Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Social Worker, Health Support Workers and Doctors. The team provide robust alternatives to admission; facilitate early transfer from hospital, as well as preventing the breakdown of a caring situation both at home or in a residential or nursing care setting. Service operating hours, 8am-9pm, 7 days per week 365 days a year. Essential car driver and access to a vehicle.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit health support workers to join the Intensive Home Treatment Team. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with other community and inpatient mental health services.  As a health support worker you will deliver a range of care interventions, providing a high standard of care for Older People within a community setting. This will include delivering care in line with agreed care plans under the supervision of a qualified member of staff. You will be required to work independently with service users, for which you will receive regular supervision.  The successful candidate will also be supported in their professional development.
