NIBTS Validation and Audit Manager Band 7
The Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (NIBTS) is now recruiting for a Validation & Audit Manager to join our team.
Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 (Band 7)
Location: Headquarters – City Hospital, Belfast
Contract: Permanent, full-time
The Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service (NIBTS) was established in 1994 as an independent Special Agency of the Department of Health. Today, we are the sole supplier of blood and blood products to hospitals and clinics across Northern Ireland, playing a vital role in supporting patients and saving lives every day.
Each year, we collect, test, and distribute more than 56,000 blood components, operating from our headquarters, based on the Belfast City Hospital site. Our specialist team of medical, nursing, collection, laboratory, quality, and support staff is backed up by a satellite team in Omagh and our purpose-built Blood Mobile Unit, enabling us to reach communities across Northern Ireland.
With 220 dedicated staff and an annual budget of £20 million, NIBTS is a dynamic, mission-led organisation. Here, you’ll be part of something bigger: a team with purpose, working together to save lives and shape the future of healthcare in Northern Ireland.

Additionally, you will be required to lead and participate in supplier audits for those suppliers supplying goods to NIBTS for use within critical processes – this may involve shared audits with other UK Blood Establishments and travel inside and outside of the UK.

If already not held, within 12 months of commencing the role, the post holder will be expected to have obtained a formal International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) registered auditing qualification which will allow the post holder to assume the role of lead auditor.
