Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our Dermatology team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly developed, innovative service that will lead the transformation of systemic therapies care pathways for dermatology patients.
You will have autonomy to run your own nurse-led clinics and play a pivotal role in supporting our Systemic Therapies Drug Monitoring Clinic, working closely with medical, nursing, and management teams.
This post will be central to ensuring that our services meet national best practice guidelines, improve patient outcomes, and support the sustainability of dermatology care through modernised, nurse-led models.
Main duties of the job
• Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients receiving systemic therapies for dermatological conditions.
• Lead nurse-led clinics and develop complex management plans based on advanced clinical reasoning.
• Line manage DTU ward manager and provide support in running the DTU service
• Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective delivery of care.
• Support the creation of a structured and consistent patient pathway for systemic therapies.
• Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and quality standards.
• Initiate and participate in service development, clinical audit, and research activities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and carers, including the delivery of complex and sensitive information.
• Maintain high standards of documentation and comply with GDPR and Trust information governance policies.

Essential criteria
- BSc in Nursing or other relevant healthcare professions
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice/equivalent
- Non-medical prescribing
- Certificated speciality courses
- Recognised teaching qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of managing and running clinics
- Broad clinical experience relevant to the post
- Specialist skills and experience in the speciality
- Clinical leadership at a senior level in an acute setting including people, financial and change management
- Experience of managing investigations and resolving complaints
Desirable criteria
- Developed a network of clinical and academic contacts across the system
Skills/knowledge/ abilities
Essential criteria
- Analyse national policy to implement local policy and processes.
- Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the speciality with a wide range of approaches to the management of complex patients
- Critically appraise research outcomes and translate into practice and care pathways across the MDT as appropriate
- Ability to organise self and others through effective self-management, delegation and allocation of activities.
