The Role
The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and care settings inclusive of nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practitioners, diagnostic radiography, podiatry, clinical pyschology and public health.
As a Lecturer (Teaching) in Nursing, you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
We are seeking an Adult Registered Nurse with significant clinical expertise in adult critical care nursing. A postgraduate qualification in critical care (or equivalent) is essential. The successful candidate will bring their specialist knowledge and experience to enhance teaching, learning and student support across our nursing portfolio.
Duties include:
• Supporting with the design and delivery of our undergraduate and post graduate nursing curriculums both on campus and online.
• Leading and teaching on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 in relevant academic subject areas including curation, adaptation and creation of learning materials, assessment and feedback tasks in alignment with Group and School quality assurance processes.
• Providing a coaching and mentorship approach to students studying on the programme.
• Upholding high standards of academic integrity in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment.
• NMC Registration in Nursing (Current and Active) is essential for this role.
• A willingness and ability to travel to other campuses and partner sites to support teaching and related activities is essential.
Qualifications Required
• NMC Registration in Adult Nursing (Current and Active) is essential for this role.
• A teaching qualification or willingness to undertake a teaching qualification if not already qualified is essential for this role.
• A postgraduate qualification in adult critical care, or equivalent is essential for this role.
Our Successful Candidate
You will be an NMC Adult Registered Nurse with substantial clinical experience in adult critical care nursing.
You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching and learning at higher education levels 4-7 in Nursing with high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
You will have experience of supporting learning within your role and of providing high quality academic and pastoral support to professionals.
You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, experienced in supporting, enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.
As a global education provider, you will hold experience and awareness of learners cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
