AfC Band 6

Trosolwg o'r swydd

Guildford Ward is looking for motivated, adaptable, forward thinking and enthusiastic Band 6 Sisters/Charge Nurses with excellent communication skills and the motivation to develop and progress their management skills in our purpose built, bright and modern environment.

We are recruiting nurses who are passionate about providing and supporting the delivery of high quality, safe and evidenced based care in our 20 bedded unit.

We are dedicated to training and developing our staff in their chosen field and take pride in supporting our nurses to become nurse specialists and nurse leaders of the future. We encourage close working with all members of the multi-disciplinary teams and support our band 6 nurses in their roles as practice supervisors and assessors to develop our junior staff and encourage and promote professional learning and development.

Informal visits are strongly recommended to see what a fantastic opportunity this is.

To assist in the management of the unit on a day to day basis by appropriate deployment, delegation and supervision of all grades of staff.

To act as a team leader on shift.

To facilitate an improvement in the quality of healthcare for patients.

To help provide a conducive working and learning environment.

To support the senior sister to promote evidence based nursing practice within the department.

This band 6 role provides a real opportunity to develop your clinical skills and knowledge base while working closely alongside our well established infection control team in our negative pressure environment.

Our enhanced care unit is an intermediate level of care between that provided within HDU and the ward, where enhanced advice and support from the critical care team can be accessed. We provide care to those patients whose care needs are greater than those that are provided on a general ward and ensures a seamless escalation of care should that be required.

Each cubicle is fitted out with cardiac monitors and medical devices to allow holistic care to be provided to both low acuity and high dependency patients who may require supported breathing interventions and work closely with our critical care outreach and respiratory teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
