Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The post holder will support the development and implantation the clinical strategy that aims to reduce restrictive practice (RRP) in Local Mental Health Services. You will be required to develop and coach clinical and operational staff in designing Quality Improvement Projects around RRP, this will involve the engagement of who clinical teams in order to promote and introduce new ways of working that support a more positive and proactive approach to care that helps reduce the need for restrictive practice.
Within the role you will also be expected to work closely with both the Borough Lead Nurse in addressing gaps in knowledge and promoting good practice in line with current evidence.There is an expectation that you provide senior clinical leadership around the area of RRP which will often involve the assessment and care planning for patients that have been subjected to Restraint/Rapid Tranquilization or Seclusion

Qualifications & Training

- Up to date registration as a RN (Mental Health) with the NMC
- Educated to degree level or equivalent

- Trained as a Quality Improvement Coach
- Evidence of post registration study / continuing professional development at masters level or equivalent experience
Experience & Knowledge

- A demonstrated understanding of Human Rights Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and the Use of Force Act with respect to its relationship to restrictive practice
- The post holder would be expected to have extensive abilities in delivering innovation and quality in clinical practice, demonstrating leadership skills, change management expertise and the delivery of clinical developments that have tangible results for patients.
- An understanding of Quality Improvement and how it is used to promote effective change in a clinical area
- Will have experience of promoting clinical effectiveness and standards setting via audit and governance frameworks.
- Able to demonstrate training and teaching expertise in applied settings.
- Will be patient focused with a track record that includes examples of clinical practice that have required collaborative interdisciplinary work to improve adult services
- Ability to exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy and critical judgement.
- Will require an in-depth knowledge of clinical care with significant evidence of post-registration development activity.
- Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient involvement.
- Be able to work autonomously in a self-motivating style.
- Will possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Will have the ability to reflect on experience and generate a learning culture.
- Ability to disseminate in a professional manner to a range of professionals
- Highly effective interpersonal skills and will be a recognisable role model for staff and patients.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of standard formats.
