Job overview
The Operational Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality clinical services by providing strong, effective leadership and management to a specified portfolio of services and teams.
Working in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team you will support clinical practice and governance and demonstrate advanced management skills, providing support and advice to service users, carers, staff, managers and other agencies, appropriate to the service portfolio. Partnership working with other key agencies and organisations is a key aspect of the role.
Main duties of the job
You will provide key operational management including:
- Develop and maintain effective communication and relationships across services, both internal and external.Support and lead on Service Developments, ensuring that the culture/ethos of the service is maintained
- Budget Management
- People Management – including staff wellbeing, employment relations, Management of Change, Recruitment, Workforce planning, Absence Management and performance.
- Performance Management – adherence to KPI’s, reporting requirements and relationships with contracted organisations.
- Chairing Senior Leadership meetings and ensuring operational governance processes are in place.
- Capacity management to support key service delivery.

- Evidence of high level of operational expertise (Masters Level or equivalent leadership experience gained through formal training and CPD
- Recognised senior management training/experience in leadership, post graduate learning to Masters level or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including line management at minimum of Band 7 or equivalent
- Experience of leading relevant specialist services
