Overview
We are a small, specialist private clinic delivering adult ADHD and Autism assessments in line with NICE guidelines. As we prepare for registration with Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS), we are seeking a clinically qualified professional to join as our Clinical Lead, providing clinical governance, oversight of pathways, and leadership across service quality and compliance.

This is a stable 0.5 FTE leadership role suited to an experienced clinician who wants consistent governance and clinical leadership alongside other work. Our clinical and administrative SOPs are already written; the primary need is clinical oversight, governance leadership, and quality assurance to support HIS readiness and ongoing regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1) Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance
  • Lead clinical governance across ADHD and Autism assessment pathways
  • Maintain and improve clinical standards, documentation quality, and report consistency
  • Review and approve clinical templates, assessment processes, and clinical SOPs
  • Provide clinical oversight for diagnostic reasoning, risk processes, and safeguarding pathways
  • Support audit processes (documentation audits, outcome review, feedback trends, clinical risk)
2) Regulatory Support (HIS Readiness & Ongoing Compliance)
  • Support readiness for HIS registration and inspection processes
  • Ensure clinical governance aligns with HIS standards and evidence requirements
  • Contribute to maintaining key governance logs (incidents, complaints, safeguarding) and ensure learning/actions are followed through
  • Act as a senior clinical point of contact for compliance-related clinical queries (alongside operational admin support)
3) Clinical Team Leadership & Support
  • Provide clinical guidance to assessors and relevant team members
  • Participate in governance meetings and contribute to continuous service improvement
  • Support supervision structures and quality assurance activity (as appropriate to scope)
4) Clinical Service Delivery (If Applicable)
Depending on professional background and availability, there may be scope to contribute clinically:
  • Conduct ADHD and/or Autism assessments in line with NICE guidelines
  • If a Nurse Prescriber: deliver initial medication appointments and follow-up reviews
  • Provide clinical input into pathway development and multidisciplinary working
Essential Requirements
  • Current professional registration:
    • NMC (for Nurse Prescriber), or
    • HCPC (for Clinical Psychologist)
  • Strong experience in ADHD/Autism assessment and/or prescribing
  • Demonstrable clinical governance, leadership, or quality improvement experience
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance (HIS, CQC, or equivalent), particularly as it relates to clinical governance and inspection readiness
  • Strong diagnostic reasoning, documentation, and communication skills
  • Comfortable providing leadership within a small, specialist, remote team
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience in independent/private healthcare settings
  • Experience leading or formalising neurodevelopmental clinical pathways
  • Audit and inspection preparation experience
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with high attention to detail
Availability & Flexibility
  • Fractional role: 0.5 FTE
  • Remote working, with scheduling flexibility to fit alongside existing clinical or portfolio commitments
What We Offer
  • Stable, part-time clinical leadership role with flexibility around existing commitments
  • Opportunity to shape and lead clinical governance within an established neurodevelopmental clinic
  • SOPs and systems already in place — focus is leadership and quality, not building from scratch
  • Competitive pro-rata salary (£70,000 FTE)
  • Meaningful work supporting neurodivergent adults and their families
