Job overview
This post holder will work under the direction of the Team Co-ordinators and Consultant Psychiatrists within the Sector Teams.
ELCAS (East Lancashire Child and Adolescent Service) recently moved to sit with the Mental Health Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust and this has created opportunities for Service and staff development. So, this is a very exciting time for practitioners and patients within the Service.
ELCAS has a range of mental health provision including a Primary Mental Health Team, Mental Health Support Teams across the localities, three Complex Sector Teams, and a Day Unit. We are a consultant led Service and we emphasise the strength of working in a multi-disciplinary way. Our main base is at Burnley General Hospital.
There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving the general culture of emotional support within East Lancashire.
At ELCAS our vision is to be a centre of excellence providing high quality Child and Adolescent psychological and mental health services that exceed people's expectations. This vision is being delivered. We have been accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Quality Network for Community CAMHS (QNCC) since 2016 and rated Outstanding with the CQC.
Main duties of the job
Undertake assessments of problems and provide appropriate therapeutic interventions and advice to children and/or their families/carers.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in addition to working as a sole practitioner, contributing to assessment and treatment decisions.
Ensure that clinical work is determined by best evidence based practice and available guidelines, displays clear and logical structure in its implementation and is subject to reflection and evaluation.
Deliver services within a hospital setting and community venues.
Attend and contribute to organized clinical supervision forums with the aim of enhancing one's own and others clinical practice.
Liaise and work, with other professionals involved with children and their families/carers, from agencies such as Health, Social Services, Education, Voluntary Services etc.
Work with other professionals in Primary or Secondary Care settings to educate children's mental health needs in families and social settings.

- RMN/CQSW/DipSW/BSc.OT or other relevant professional qualification
