We are pleased to announce a Permanent Ward Manager position available on ward 4 Newsam Centre.

As a Ward Manager, you will have responsibility for the effective day to day running of your ward, ensuring that care is safe, well coordinated, and consistently delivered to a high standard. You will guide and support your team, working closely with the Acute Inpatient Service Leadership Team to strengthen the service and enhance both patient and staff experience.
This role offers the chance to influence clinical practice, support improvement initiatives, and contribute to a positive and therapeutic environment.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The Ward Manager is responsible for the effective day to day leadership and coordination of the inpatient ward, ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality, evidence based care. The role requires strong communication and relationship building skills, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, senior leaders, and partner agencies, and contributing to operational, governance and professional meetings. The post holder will demonstrate confident decision making in complex and emotionally challenging situations, supporting staff, resolving conflict, and ensuring adherence to Trust policies, clinical standards, and medicines management procedures.

They will provide visible leadership, supervise staff, organise team meetings and management supervision, and promote a therapeutic environment that supports patient safety and wellbeing. The Ward Manager is expected to contribute to service development, implement NICE guidance, support clinical governance activity, and lead on investigations, complaints and service reviews. They will maintain up to date clinical knowledge, model best practice, and foster a positive, inclusive culture that supports continuous improvement, professional development, and high standards of care.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. As a teaching trust with strong links to local universities, we are a centre of excellence for teaching, research and development.
