Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for qualified Mammographers, to join our multi-professional team at Princess Anne Hospital Breast Unit in Southampton and community base mobile breast screening service.

This contract is fixed term for 12 month to cover maternity leave.  The service delivers both primary breast screening and symptomatic mammography.

The breast unit is fully digital with three mammography units, two being a tomosynthesis systems. In addition we have three mobile units to provide primary screening to our catchment area.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
•    HCPC registered
•    Degree (BSc Honours in Radiography or equivalent qualification)
•    Post graduate qualification in Mammography
•    Experience working in X-ray
•    Willingness to take part in a flexible rota
•    Evidence of NHS experience
•    Team work ethic
•    Flexible and adaptable
•    You will need to be able to drive, be willing to travel to our remote locations and have full driving  license

Person specification

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Radiotherapy diagnostic or therapeutic or equivalent
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Mammography
  • HCPC registered
  • Sound knowledge of IR(me)R 2000, IRR regulations and clinical governance
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP and Quality Assurance Programmes (QA)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a breast screening unit
