As an integrated Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) delivers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults, including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, and forensic services with low and medium secure care.
- Specialist mental health inpatient care for individuals with learning disabilities, alongside specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
- Extensive community physical health and well-being services for children and adults, covering prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term condition management.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,500 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. The organisation offers opportunities for medics, mental health, general nurses, children’s nurses, allied health professionals, psychology, administration and clerical staff, apprentices and volunteers, as well as those specialising in learning disabilities and community physical health services.

Job overview
We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated registered Nurse to join a busy and well respected Integrated Learning Disability Service, which covers the Lancashire locality. We are very pleased to be able to offer this role within the Pennine Lancashire locality (East Lancashire).
This is an exciting opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience of community services for people with learning disability. The Learning Disability Service strives to provide forward thinking high quality services, working in partnership with other agencies. In addition to working with people with learning disabilities, their families and carers we have a strong commitment to health promotion through service development and training initiatives. We are committed to helping our staff develop and you will be part of an enthusiastic and experienced team.
We are looking for a registered Nurse with an up to date knowledge of health policy for people with learning disabilities. Adaptability, good communication skills and self –motivation are essential. The successful applicant will be an experienced clinician with proven skills in working with people who have complex needs and challenging behaviour. You will also be able to demonstrate that your practice is evidence based and innovative.
Main duties of the job
The Community Learning Disability Team in Pennine is a friendly supportive multi-disciplinary team based across 3 sites; Darwen, Accrington and Burnley. We pride ourselves in our holistic approach to supporting the health needs of adults with learning disabilities and our drive for continuous service development across all professions. We meet monthly as a whole team alternating virtual and face to face meetings.
The A means of transport is essential and applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
