Are you an Advanced Clinical Practitioner looking for a new opportunity to expand your current knowledge and skills? We are seeking an experienced and motivated full time Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our dynamic Thoracic Surgery team. Based within our specialist thoracic ward, you will play a pivotal role in the management of patients undergoing lung cancer surgical procedures and those requiring care following chest trauma.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as an autonomous practitioner within a highly respected multidisciplinary team, delivering advanced clinical care through ACP-led ward rounds and dedicated thoracic ward attender clinics with the support of the Thoracic Consultant surgeons and specialist registrar team. This not only benefits patients in terms of continuity and quality of care, but provides our patients with more prompt admissions, seamless inpatient care and improved discharges. This improves the patient experience by avoiding hospital admission and reducing length of stay. You will be empowered to utilise your advanced assessment, diagnostic, decision-making, leadership and educational skills while contributing to the ongoing development of our patient-centred service.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
At UHS, we’re committed to providing a flexible working environment where possible. Whether you are balancing family, study, or your wellbeing with your career, we want to support you so you can help our patients.

You will benefit from a supportive and collaborative relationship with our consultant team, who are strong advocates for advanced clinical practice and are dedicated to supporting the professional growth and development of ACPs.
The Thoracic ACP service runs from 07.30-20.30 seven days a week, and you will be required to work 12 hour shifts as well as 7.5 hour shifts to cover the clinic.

• You will provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health care professionals.
• You will practice clinically within agreed care protocols; these will be monitored by the Designated Medical Lead / Lead ACP.
