Job overview

This post is a fixed term contract for 12 months, secondment will also be considered.

 

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated NMC registered nurses who wish to progress into a key role within the evolving public health environment and join our friendly and supportive Health Visiting Team.

Successful applicants will undertake Specialist Community Public Health Nurse training (SCPHN) in order to develop the knowledge and skills required to function safely and effectively as a SCPHN (Health Visitor) through support, education and guidance of the Higher Education Institute and Practice Supervisor (PS), Practice Assessor (PA) and Professional Lead.  Applicants may be eligible for funding through HEIW.

Main duties of the job

You will be supernumerary for the duration of the course and allocated  a qualified Health Visitor practice supervisor and practice assessor. You will learn all aspects of the (Health Visitor) role whilst undertaking your practical  experience within a Health Visiting team in the Central area. You will build up your experience and confidence in practice whilst learning the theoretical aspects of the public health course.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
