Job overview

This post is fixed term for 9 months maternity cover, to meet the needs of the service.   If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.  

We are pleased to be recruiting a B6 senior Community Nurse , working in the community with children and young people with significant global developmental delay, social communication difficulties or learning disabilities and their families, as part of the Flintshire Children’s Learning Disabilities Service.  The post holder will be primarily based in Flintshire, working with the Flintshire families.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who wants to work with pre-school children with developmental delay, and children with learning disabilities and their families, and who has prior experience of working with children. 

Main duties of the job

A range of community work will be undertaken, including assessment for Autism for under 5’s, as part of a multi professional team, specialist assessment to formulate interventions, strategies and care plans.   These interventions can be delivered through group work; individual 1:1 work; working as part of the MDT as well as alone; and the successful applicant will need to be familiar with the Continuing Care Health funding process.

Service development is an active part of the role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
