We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Community Children's Nurse to join our Lifetime Service on a part-time basis.

In this rewarding role, you will support children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, helping them receive high-quality nursing care in the environment of their choice. Working closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred care that promotes comfort, dignity and quality of life.

You will undertake allocated clinical and administrative tasks identified by caseload managers and contribute to the delivery of holistic nursing care tailored to the individual needs of each child and family.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • ·         Be responsible for maintaining and updating own clinical competence and skills
  • ·         Promote a family centred approach to care and empowerment of the child’s family to take a lead in their child’s care
  • ·         Develop and maintain knowledge of the conditions that affect the children on the caseload
  • ·         Work as part of the Lifetime core nursing team to provide clinical advice and support to the multi-agency teams
  • ·         Undertake specialist investigations and with support from nursing team interpret results and initiate appropriate action. 
  • ·         Deliver clinical training to parents, carers and others to enable children to be cared for in a variety of settings
  • ·         Provide nursing interventions to children in accordance with the Lifetime and Sirona policies and procedures
  • ·         To plan, implement and review care that is provided in partnership with children, parents and others caring for the family with senior nursing support

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments
  • Previous experience working with children with complex health needs
  • Car Driver (able to travel across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire)

  • Paediatric intensive care/paediatric high dependency care experience
  • Experience in paediatric palliative care and complex health care
  • Ability to manage work autonomously
  • Be competent or willing to attain competency in extended role skills as required by the care to be delivered.
  • Knowledge of ventilation, tracheostomy care, oxygen monitoring
  • Experience with central lines, port-a-caths, venepuncture, obtaining specimen samples

  • RSCN/RN Child registered on part 8 or 15 NMC register

  • Community Children’s Nursing experience
  • Facilitating Learning and Assessment in Practice Course or Equivalent (Student Practice Supervisor/Assessment)
