An exciting opportunity to join the elective orthopaedic unit at Llandudno Hospital. this is a 19 bed unit for orthopaedic elective surgery within a specialised ward. You may require to start in the current unit in Abergele Hospital until the development is completed.

Main duties of the job

To deliver a high standard of care to pre and post operative elective orthopaedic patients having surgery. To have excellent communication skills and provide assistance in the pre and post operative stages of elective surgery.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support the registered nurses to deliver excellent standards of care to patients in the unit. to work with the multidisciplinary team to achieve early discharge and support to patients receiving care in the unit. to help with washing and dressing, provide assistance with diet and fluid intake at mealtimes. to assist the patients in manual handling and early mobilisation following elective orthopaedic surgery.
