Job overview

Ty Llywelyn is currently recruiting male staff in order to maintain equity of its staffing establishment and due to the requirements of the Male only patient group.

Full time post for Healthcare Support Worker on Ty Llywelyn Medium Secure Unit. To provide person centred care to service users within forensic mental health inpatient services under supervision of registered nurses within a clinical team that adheres to best practice, standards and health board policies contributing the the recovery focussed care of the service user.

Main duties of the job

To assist the registered nurse in carrying out day to day care of individuals, endeavouring to provide for the holistic needs of individuals in conjunction with other disciplines within the health care environment.

To assist the registered nurse in providing a high and consistent level of holistic care, maintaining the dignity and equality of the individual. This includes direct care.

To observe and monitor changes in individuals’ behaviour, physical condition and social interaction, and to report any changes to the nurse in charge.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
