Main duties of the job

The role of Duty Coordinator will be based within Roseberry Park providing senior clinical leadership and oversight to the inpatient teams and service users. The role will be to offer clinical support and coordination of workload across the services, supporting and inducting staff in processes and practice within the service, offering clinical and management supervision to the team, developing close working relationships with key stakeholders, monitoring of the KPI’s for the service and the implementation of quality assurance measures within the organisation  Your role will be to support the staff within the team with decision making, or challenging and rapidly changing situations. 

You will work as part of a motivated, driven and dynamic team. A professional registration within Mental health, social care or an Allied Professional registration with mental health experience is essential and experience within an urgent mental health care setting is desirable. Full training and induction in the role will be provided.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD (RNC-CAMHS only)
  • Post Grad Diploma willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years.
  • Recognised Practice Supervisor and or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience at band 6 (or equivalent of Band 6) or above working with people with mental ill health, Autism, or Learning Disability in a care environment.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
  • Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
  • Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence-based practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Clinical Supervisor

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
  • Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate.
  • Supervising or assessing students on practice placement.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Quality improvement activities
  • Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
  • Research and development methodology.
  • Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.
  • Working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections.
