An exciting opportunity has arisen in our 20 bedded Intensive Care Unit for a caring, highly motivated and enthusiastic band 5 Staff Nurse
Every day we strive to deliver excellent and compassionate care to our patients. We were voted ICU Trust Of The Year in 2022 by the Intensive Care Society. As an Intensive Care Unit we are proud to have been successful in achieving university accreditation with the University of Reading. We were recently in the top 10% of hospitals in the UK in the "Friends and Family Test"
We are looking for Registered Nurses who have acute nursing experience. We are looking for current or recent NHS Nursing experience although previous ICU experience is not necessary. Please do not apply if you have not worked in the NHS.
Nurses new to ICU are supported by our dedicated practice education team and follow the National Competency Framework for Registered Nurses in Adult Critical Care.
Your transition into critical care is also supported by a dedicated mentor and a team leader who will ensure you have the support and guidance you require.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing planned nursing care, and for the maintenance of associated records for patients in the given clinical area.
You will be expected to work as an effective team member, assisting in the management and the organisation of the work as required.
The post holder will display effective communication skills and work as a role model for good practice, supporting and developing students and more junior colleagues as required.
