We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Children's Nurse or Midwife  to join the Children's Safeguarding Team, this is a unique role which will involve working across both Maternity and Paediatrics to support the Named Nurse and Midwife to safeguard children and unborns. The children's Safeguarding team are committed to providing the highest quality care to our complex families, whilst ensuring they are safeguarded to highest level.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the Named Nurse and Named Midwife and the wider safeguarding team to advocate for children, have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate  with Trust staff and partnership agencies. 

To provide support for junior staff, to enhance their knowledge and confidence To ensure that we provide the highest level of safeguarding for our children and advocate for them to ensure their voice is heard. 

It will involve attending multidisciplinary meetings both internally and with partnership agencies.

Supported to deliver training to staff across the Trust

Working directly with our complex families to promote the safeguarding of  children and unborns.

To develop own knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and legislation.

To work closely with Named Midwife, Named Nurse for Child Protection, the Senior Safeguarding Practitioner, Designated Professionals, Head of Safeguarding and other professionals in the Trust Safeguarding Team in supporting all activities necessary to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities in Safeguarding Children and Child Protection.

 

To advise police, social care and other agencies on health matters with regard to safeguarding unborns/children in acute and community settings.

 

To contribute to the organisation’s statutory role in partnership functions within the multi-agency team; sharing relevant information, completing risk assessment and analysis as necessary

 

To facilitate and deliver Safeguarding Children Training as part of the Safeguarding Children Team, from a single agency focus and also contributing to partnership training.

To always act in accordance with the NMC codes of conduct and ensure professional accountability for actions
