Senior Staff Nurse - Oncology Nursing (King Edward DBU)

Are you a chemotherapy trained nurse or are you interested in a career in cancer nursing? We have band band 6 Senior Staff Nurse opportunities available. 

We are a small team of nurses providing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) and supportive therapies for patients at all stages of their cancer journey in day unit settings.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurses with an interest in Oncology nursing. You will be qualified for a minimum of one year and already competent in cannulation and IV therapy.

Experience administering chemotherapy is an advantage but full training (including an accredited university module) will be given.

The team has recently been adopted by Macmillan which gives the opportunity for further support and development.

Previous post holders have developed into specialist roles within the Berkshire Cancer Centre.

We work across three sites:

1/  King Edward ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm;

2/ Chemotherapy 1 at the Bracknell Healthspace open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 08.30-16.30; and

3/ we have recently set up a new service on the site of West Berkshire Community Hospital (initially open on Fridays).
