Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (Windsor Dialysis Unit)
PLEASE NOTE: This post is based at Windsor Dialysis Unit, Old Ambulance Station, Maidenhead Road, SL4 5EY - and attracts a Fringe payment of 5% of gross basic salary.
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to work full-time 37.5 hours per week at our Windsor Dialysis Unit - you must be able to work all shifts AM, PM and Twilight Shifts.
Windsor dialysis unit is 24 bedded dialysis unit located in the middle of Windsor Town near Windsor Castle and the racecourse.
We work as a team to provide high quality of care to our patients.
Windsor Dialysis Unit is proud to be part of Berkshire Kidney Unit: University Department of Renal Medicine. We are recognized by the University of Reading for our excellence in clinical care, education and research that the whole department delivers.
A visit to our unit is highly recommended.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide high quality fundamental care to patients under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Practitioner in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner.
Acting always in the patient’s best interests.
Protecting and maintaining the patient’s privacy and dignity at all times.
Providing individualized care for a diverse group of patients respecting personal beliefs and preferences.
Alert the Registered Practitioner and/or Ward/ Department Manager to any change or concern relating to the welfare of the patient in a timely manner.
Assisting nurses in the Haemodialysis Unit to provide a holistic care to patients. Training will be provided for enhanced practice.
As part of the induction process, all new Healthcare Assistants will be supported to complete the nationally recognised Care Certificate (attached document refers) developed by Health Education England, Skills for Health and Skills for Care (2015).
This fantastic opportunity will allow you to gain formal recognition for the skills and knowledge you develop within the first 12 weeks of employment within the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
