Job overview

A number of exciting opportunities have arisen for enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Clinical Support Workers to work within our inpatient CAMHS service at Parkview Clinic, Moseley, Birmingham.

This service comprises of 3 wards, with a total of 34 beds. Young people age 11 18 are admitted to this Regional Service from across the West Midlands.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with experience of mental health care or experience of working in other care settings to provide high quality care. You should be able to work on your own initiative under the support and direction of registered nurses as a member of a multi-disciplinary team that aims to provide high quality inpatient care to a diverse population. You should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to relate to patients under our care and be able to forge effective professional relationships at varying levels, with care and compassion. We offer induction and training, opportunities for personal development and supervision and support. Were looking for someone who is always looking for ways to improve the care we can provide.

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Equivalent qualification in relevant subject.
  • Care Certificates (completed or working towards)

Knowledge & Nature of Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within a health care setting

  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience of working with people who present with mental health difficulties

Analytical and Judgement Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to write clear and concise clinical notes and complete other documentation
  • Ability and confidence to escalate appropriately in a timely manner
  • Able make and record mental and physical state observations

Professional/Managerial/Specialist Knowledge

  • Have a genuine interest in working with young people
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Ability to deal with exposure to distressing circumstances
