Healthcare Assistant - Cannock Eye Centre
Band 2
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Cannock Eye Centre for a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant who is looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to work in both an outpatient clinic environment AND a fully equipped cataract surgery operating theatre.
Previous experience is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Based at Cannock Chase Hospital, The Cannock Eye Centre is a unique facility that provides the full surgical journey for patients in one specially designed department. All of our patients are seen in the new patient clinic before returning for pre-op assessments. Following this they return for surgery and then finally a post op visit to check everything has gone as planned. The uniqueness of the vacancy is that the Cannock Eye Centre Staff are given the opportunity to cover all these different areas in one multi skilled role.
Staff will learn how to provide support during general ophthalmology clinics, pre and post-operative outpatient clinics, they will learn the skills and techniques to be able to carry out basic eye test on patients, yet also the fantastic opportunity to learn how to become a circulator during cataract operations.
