Interprofessional Simulation Lead
NHS AfC: Band 8a

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified Interprofessional Simulation Lead to join our dynamic Medical Education team.
The individual should be educated to Masters Level and have strong leadership skills, highly developed IT and organisational skills, along with the ability to communicate and interact with a range of staff groups with diplomacy, persuasion and tact.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead a well-established and committed team and contribute to the future development of this service.
We have recently been successful in the creation of our Simulation Academy. The Academy members are from a range of professional backgrounds all with the common goal of providing the best possible simulation-based education. The Ron Grimley Simulation Centre has an institutional membership with ASPiH and actively enforces the simulation standards set out by ASPiH.

The post holder will organise, deliver and contribute as a member of the Simulation Academy Faculty to medical, nursing, clinical and allied health professional training. They will have specialist clinical and educational knowledge to facilitate and deliver simulation based education (SBE) to meet the needs of medical and clinical staff for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate education.
Our regionally recognised Simulation Centre has the capacity to function as a two-bedded ward area or an operating theatre; with piped medical gases. We provide simulation training to a range of participants from 3rd year medical students to Consultant Anaesthetists and everyone in between. We have received national recognition for our work within the field of Learning Disabilities and have received several other nominations for our Student Nurse programme.

- Advanced Life Support Instructor (ALS/EPALS/APALS)
- Advanced Life Support Provider (ALS/EPALS/APALS)
- Healthcare simulation and human factors/NTS qualification
Skills and experience

- Highly developed IT skills
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare simulation education with the ability to design, deliver and evaluate education programmes
- Evidence of successful leadership
- Ability to plan, organise and budget for external courses and manage budgets
- Evidence of undertaking variety of clinical skills in workplace with knowledge of clinical procedures/pathways and protocols
- Ability to adapt teaching approach to suit the needs of the participants
