Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic registered nurse to join the weight management service at North Bristol Trust. This post will be working with all members of the multi disciplinary team including, doctors, pharmacists, dieticians, psychologists and administrative staff. 

Key duties of the role will include:

  • Initiate and provide follow-up face to face/remote clinics for patients on Tirzepatide
  • Provide assessment, advice and support to patients in medical weight management
  • Provide teaching to patients, families and other professionals
  • Prescribe weight loss medications such as Tirzepatide
  • Participate and initiate relevant research and audits for medical weight management
  • Attend service meetings and MDT

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual that is patient focused and wants to support patients through the weight management service.

  • NMC Registration
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • Evidence of study at masters level in relevant subjects/willingness to work towards
  • Recognised teaching qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Training within obesity/weight management

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant post registration experience
  • Experience of working in a senior nursing role
  • Experience of working within the surgical speciality
  • Experience of leading change
  • Evidence of recent teaching experience
  • Experience of autonomous practice

  • Experience of working in weight management/obesity
  • Experience of leading audits/research
