Job overview

Due to the promotion of the existing post holder, we are excited to advertise the Lead Nurse role for Urgent and Emergency Care.

 

The successful candidate will work as part of a quadrumvirate, alongside the Clinical Lead, General Manager and 8b Lead ACP, to deliver the highest standards of patient experience and quality lead, in services that are high performing across our front door. These services  encompasses the UTC, ED, Acute Receiving Unit, Emergency Medical Receiving Unit and Same Day Emergency Care.

 

We are on a journey across these services to deliver the right care, in the right place at the right time, we have made a number of positive changes with more to deliver.

 

We are looking for an exceptional nursing leader, who is a good strategist, with patient care at the heart of what they do, who can lead the teams through these developments.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a Lead Nurse role.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide a clear focus for clinical and strategic leadership and a highly visible and authoritative presence across Care Group.
The postholder is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care within their areas of service.
The postholder will also ensure that administrative and support services are delivered to achieve the highest standards of care within their clinical area. They will be responsible for co-ordinating care, monitoring expenditure, monitoring the quality of clinical support and environmental services, and managing specialist nursing staff.
They will also be accountable for the development and performance management of all nursing staff to enable delivery of the Trust’s Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Strategy.
They will ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery. They will work collaboratively with the relevant Clinical Lead, Care Group Director of Nursing and the Senior Operational Manager to lead and manage their service

Experience

  • Extensive Experience at 8A Senior Nurse or AHP
  • Demonstrable experience of improving patient experience and patient safety in a range of settings
  • Experience of chairing meetings, managing diverse attendance and contributions
  • Has experience of external collaborative working and understanding of the challenges of working within a specialist commissioned area.
