Sister/Charge Nurse  

Department Intensive Care Unit

Band 6  £38,682 - £46,580 Per annum, pro rata

Hours: 30 per week,  all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

MKUH Care Unit wants to meet you as an expert critical care practitioner to join our nursing leadership team as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse and share your skills with ours. 

We are a 10 bedded Intensive Care Unit that has recently been refurbished in a University Teaching Hospital managing emergency, elective and paediatric patients from across the region. We are proud to be the home of ICUSteps and hold the principles of holistic care and multidisciplinary rehabilitation at the centre of everything we do. 

We will provide a tailored education strategy to complete National Step 4 Competency Framework, access assessor and supervisor training, clinical, teaching and leadership opportunities across the Trust.  We provide full support to undertake Level 7 MSc pathways to help individuals to gain the knowledge and skills to become the senior critical care leaders and managers of the future.

As part of the ICU team you will contribute actively to the health, safety and recovery of our critically ill patients  demonstrating that contribution goes beyond performing routine duties. This means bringing your full knowledge, initiative and commitment to the team every shift. You will work collaboratively with other disciplines and departments, knowing that the best care is never delivered  alone. Teamwork is our foundation and shared goals are our strength.
